According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. There are common cancers that affect women, including breast, colorectal, endometrial, lung, cervical, skin, and ovarian cancers– and many of these cancers are considered preventable and have recommended screening guidelines. However, many women are simply behind on many of these screenings. Sometimes, we skip screenings because it’s inconvenient. Other times, we’re not even sure what we need. And many of us are afraid, not only of the screenings but what the results might mean.
